Taking The Bait

Some arguments really are too embarrassing to waste time on, but Garry Wills' piece in the LA Times this morning is getting play from people I respect, so I'll just say this about Abortion Isn't A Religious Issue. Exactly right, Mr. Wills. That is what pro-lifers have been trying to tell you since 1973. If the question of when life begins were left to embryology and genetics textbooks, there would be no abortion debate. It is the pro-aborts who are stuck muddying the waters with "religious" issues. It's all they've got. Well, that, and Justice Kennedy's "sweet mystery of life" passage from Casey.
