G-8 Practices Irish Environmentalism

They're calling it a great victory for Angela Merkel (& the planet!), but it reads like Bush all the way to me --each country gets to decide its own global warming goals. Nevermind that, though. I simply note global warming was first on the G-8 agenda, yet they're holding the conference in Heilegendamm, Germany. Shouldn't Bush & Harper have "lead" by teleconferencing from DC or Toronto? Which question is really an excuse to note this from Tim Blair a few days ago:
Bad news reaches a Prague tourist information centre:
"Since your President Vaclav Klaus has declared people are not responsible for global warming, we have decided to go to Malta rather than to the Czech Republic,” an Irish couple has written.
Since this pair believe people are responsible for global warming, why are they travelling anywhere? Let alone to Malta, which is – ahem – about 1,000 kilometres further from Ireland than Prague.
